Think of Salzburg and think of Mozart. The Mozart family lived on the third floor of the "Hagenauer House" at Getreidegasse 9 for twenty-six years, from 1747 to 1773. The celebrated composer, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, was born here on January 27, 1756.
Take in a Mozart City Tour for all that is Mozart and the town he called home. If you have a sweet tooth try the Mozart Marzipan Chocolates they are delicious. In fact everywhere you go you will find souvenirs of Mozart. Experience a concert of Mozart’s magnificent music. This beautiful city is full of Baroque architecture like something out of a fairy tale.
Make sure you get a Salzburg Card, it gives you free admission to Salzburg’s museums, the Fortress Funicular, the cableway just to name a few.
My favorite street in Salzburg is Getreidegasse, the most famous shopping lane with narrow houses close together. The shops have the most amazing signs hanging out the front. Getreidegasse is just exquisite. Salzburg it is like stepping back in time and just a very special place.
Look through these websites and find the tours and sights you would like to see, there are many to choose from.

On a beautiful sunny afternoon we arrived at this most picturesque "Sound of Music" village.
Staying at a simple little pension, with the best Wiener Schnitzel ever. We expected to see Julie Andrews at breakfast, instead the whole village had turned into a white wonderland overnight. This is an experience we will never forget.
