Port Douglas Queensland

Port Douglas in Far North Queensland is a tropical paradise just waiting for you to arrive.

You will fly into Cairns and then a short drive to Port Douglas. From here you can take a day tour on a catamaran out to The Great Barrier Reef where you can go snorkeling . The tour provides lunch after you reach the reef then later in the day makes its way back to Port Douglas.

The township itself is reasonably small and has the feel of a seaside town.
One of our favorite restaurants is “On The Inlet “where you sit right on the waters edge on a balcony and can see fish swimming around you.  The food is excellent and be sure to try the non alcoholic cocktails they are amazing.

There are many other eateries and a hotel in the main street along with a variety of shops.  Marina Mirage is a shopping area with stylish boutiques, just near the harbour.

The best things about Port Douglas are the beach, the tropical climate and the relaxed feel. Four mile beach is the main swimming beach in Port Douglas where you can enjoy water sports.

If you feel like a drive “Silky Oaks”,  just north of Port Douglas,  do a lovely lunch and the atmosphere makes you feel like you live in a tree house.

You can take a tour where you will see crocodiles. See details on website link below.

Whether you choose accommodation in one of the many hotels or a house on the beach as Destination Diva did contact us and we can make your holiday one to remember.

The Whitsunday Islands

There are many magnificent and natural beauty spots around the world and I would have to say the the Whitsunday's off the coast of Far North Queensland would have to be up there with the best.
I had been to many Queensland beaches including the Sunshine Coast and always thought the Whitsunday’s would be nice to see. Having now been fortunate enough to experience the Whitsunday’s all I can say is
WOW.
We stayed at Airlie Beach which is the starting point for cruises or flights to the Islands of the Whitsunday’s.  Airlie Beach is a lovely beach side town with a great vibe and some fabulous accommodation.  We stayed in an apartment overlooking the water which was first class.

There is so much on offer for water enthusiasts and sightseers alike.  We did a day trip to Whitehaven Beach. Words cannot describe how beautiful this beach is.  All the photos of Whitehaven you have seen are it and more.  The sand is pure white and the water aqua blue/green.  I have never seen such magnificent beaches and scenery anywhere in the world.

Snorkeling and other water sports are big in this part of the world so there is plenty for everyone to enjoy.
There are many beautiful Islands, Hamilton Island and Hayman Island are probably the most well known but there are many more.

Do yourself a favor and check out the website and see what this wonderful part of Australia has to offer. It really is Heaven on Earth.

There are many different tour options available.
