Your first view of Oban is one you will truly never forget. From the north, you glimpse the unforgettable view from the top of the "Bealach-an-Righ". As you come down the hill towards the expanse of the bay, the view opens up before you and it becomes clear why it is so easy to appreciate why Oban has developed into Scotland's most popular west-coast holiday town.
Oban today has a resident population of 8,500 and is the "Gateway to the Isles". The panoramic views of the mountains, lochs and islands which have captivated artists, authors, composers, and poets for centuries are as significantly spectacular now as they always were. Restaurants and Cafe's in and around Oban offer all your heart desires, from delicious seafood to lovely homemade soups, sandwiches and hearty meals.
Oban is a wonderful place to spend time with its stunning west coast sunsets, excellent sea food and huge variety of accommodation. It also gives easy access to all the nearby islands. Oban is the biggest hub on the west coast giving access to all the Inner and Outer Hebrides.
There is plenty to keep you busy in and around the area, whether your stay is a flying trip or a long vacation. So enjoy your visit here, and enjoy a little piece of heaven when you are in Oban. We recently stayed here for a week and had a fabulous time in our own apartment.
