Auckland City has really come of age since the America’s Cup and the recent development of Auckland Harbour. With apartments, restaurants and shopping the area is now abuzz with locals and visitors alike. An elevator ride to the top of Sky City Casino Tower will give an excellent view of the city and the harbor alike.
Many parts of Auckland have direct access to the coast and local people spend much of their leisure time swimming, boating etc.
You may like to take in an Auckland Wine Tour or a helicopter ride over the city, maybe check out the North Shore.
There are so many tours to choose from check out the link below.
We drove from Auckland up to the Bay of Islands which is a beautiful part of the country. Pristine waters and unobstructed views from the mainland make this a popular place to visit.

Queenstown is a beautiful village at the base of the Remarkables Mountain Range and a base for those who enjoy snow sports. Summer tourists can also enjoy the beauty of this town with bushwalking, swimming or maybe just relaxing with a glass of NZ wine.
The town itself is really quite charming with some great cafe’s and restaurants.
Take a day tour to Mt Cook it is breathtaking and if you manage to be there on a clear day there will be great photos of the peak to be
taken or take a wine tour to experience some of the best wines New Zealand produces.
For a bit of fun do some sight seeing in Queenstown on a Segway or take in one of the many other tours available.
For something a little different a 20 minute car ride from Queenstown will have you in Arrowtown, an old gold mining town with some great cafes.
Why not try a NZ treat, a marshmallow chocolate fish. I have only found these choccy treats in New Zealand and they are sure to please the kids or the chocoholic in your family.
There are many more magnificent places to explore in the South Island, Milford Sound is so scenic and Dunedin to connect with your Scottish roots. There is so much more in this beautiful country to explore.
