Set on the Caldera, Santorini is like something from a post card and in fact many people think of it as a picture postcard.
Quaint white washed dwellings hanging on the side of the cliffs looking out to azure waters is spectacular. Red geranium’s overhanging window boxes with walls and roofs covered in a variety of bright coloured bougainvillea. These photos on the left are from the apartment we rented in Santorini for less cost than you would pay for a holiday in Oz without this view. We had a fantastic host who could not do enough to make our holidays here perfect. |
Greek Islands - Naoussa Paros Naoussa a beautiful little village northeast of Parikia, is a quiet, picturesque alternative to Parikia. A 20-minute bus ride away Naoussa, even though fairly crowded in high season, still manages to have a truly Greek Island magic and a small village feel. The fishing village of Naoussa is where we base ourselves on Paros. A walk around the village makes you feel as though you live there. It is not as touristy as Santorini and Mykonos and as you walk through the many little laneways the atmosphere is so relaxing. Brightly coloured flowers add to the ambience of this spectacular village. The hosts at our favourite traditional hotel make us feel so like part of their family. This is the main reason we keep returning. |

Greek Islands - Rhodes Old Town When you approach the walls of the Old Town of Rhodes, you are about to enter the oldest inhabited medieval town in Europe. Old Town of Rhodes is a beautiful place to wander around there are roughly 200 streets or lanes that simply have no name. Getting lost here is a pleasure. Whenever you feel the need to find your bearings, you can ask for Sokratous, which is the closest the Old Town of Rhodes comes to having a main street. We stay at a gorgeous little hotel here with the most wonderful hosts. |
Greek Islands - Naxos Naxos is considered one of the most beautiful and authentic islands of the Cyclades and attracts more and more visitors every year. Naxos is becoming a popular destination, which doesn’t come as a surprise, with the great variety this island has to offer to visitors. Impressive mountainous landscapes, a beautiful Venetian capital and many traditional white painted villages. |

Greek Islands - Mykonos
If you want to kick your heels up and party then Mykonos will probably suit you better than some of the smaller Islands. Having said that the village itself also has so much character and typical Greek Island scenery. It is a beautiful place. There are ferries daily to the nearby islands of Paros & Naxos if you want to get out and about and explore. Delos just off Mykonos is well worth a visit. Navigating your way through the myriad of narrow streets and lane ways is a challenge to visitors, a very pleasant one. The streets were designed to confuse pirates in days gone by and it certainly adds to the charm of the Island. The lovely lady who owns the small hotel we stay at is so friendly and helpful it seem nothing is too much trouble. |

France - Paris
Not just the Eiffel Tower, The Seine or Notre Dame. Paris is a culture which needs to be experienced by just being there. The people, the way they walk, talk and interact with each other. The manner in which they "take coffee" is one of the most civilised and choreographed rituals on the planet and is an experience to embrace. Paris is a city for walking and there is a new discovery around every corner. C'est Magnifique ! There are many perched villages dotted all over the French Riviera overlooking the sea, each one has its own unique charm to be explored along narrow alleys or in tiny craft shops. The most famous include Eze, & Saint-Paul de Vence. |
Another of our favourite destinations. Buckingham Palace, Tower Bridge, The London Eye and Harrods all say London. When you think you have seen all the sights there are always many more. The streets are buzzing, the attractions are stunning and history is every where. |

The gateway to central Switzerland, located on the shores of Lake Lucerne, is embedded within an impressive mountainous panorama. Thanks to its attractions, its souvenir and watch shops, the beautiful lakeside setting and the nearby excursion mountains of the Rigi, Pilatus and Stanserhorn, the town is a popular destination. |
