Noosa Heads Sunshine Coast
Queensland.
If you like pristine beaches that go for miles you can't look past the Sunshine Coast.
Noosa Heads has some of the best beaches in Australia. Main Beach in Noosa is a very safe beach which is patrolled by Surf Lifesavers. If you want a more rugged surf beach Sunshine Beach is the one for you, it is a 5 minute drive from Noose Heads.
Hastings Street is the main street in Noosa Heads. There is a wide range of shopping on Hastings Street from designer clothing to souvenirs, not to mention the many restaurants with varied types of cuisine.
Accommodation on Hastings Street which backs onto the water is more expensive than the resorts a little further away from the waterfront. One kilometer from Hastings Street is Macquarie Lodge which has tastefully decorated apartments at more affordable prices. We stay at apt 34 Macquarie Lodge which is a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom Apt with a Japanese theme decor, featured above. A beautiful haven away from the crowds.
It is a 10 minute walk to Main Beach. There is an excellent bus service around Noosa and the other towns nearby which I would recommend if you do not have a car.
At the end of Hastings Street is the Noosa National Park. There is a walk along the cliff edge which is very pretty looking back over the town. You can walk right through the park and most likely see Koala Bears and other wild life.
Noosa Junction has some great shopping and is where the local supermarkets are located so if you are staying at one of the resorts in the area and have your own kitchen this is the place to stock up the pantry. There is a variety of restaurants and bars along the Junction so you will be spoilt for choice. If you want a quick snack you will find many different kinds of take away foods. Noosaville, a 5 minute drive from Noose Heads is where you will find more shopping.
There is a movie theatre located at Noosa Junction for the movie buff. Every Sunday morning there is a Farmers Market at the Noosaville Football Ground and Noosa Marina in Noosaville. If you feel like venturing out of town for a drive check out Montville near the Glass House Mountains. It is a quaint little village with some cute shops and fine restaurants.
Noosa Heads Surf Life Saving Club
Noosa Heads Surf Life Saving Club sits in an awesome position on the main strip with a million dollar view. As far as meals are concerned The Club itself is pretty much like any other hotel or leagues club. The food is certainly tasty enough but if you want a special dinner try one of the other many restaurants on the Boardwalk. Berardo’s is really nice and also has great views. The service here at the Surf Life Saving Club is quick and friendly and you get a decent size serve, however the best part of eating here is the view from the large balcony looking straight out over Laguna Bay. It is breathtaking. The building is situated right on the sand. It’s a great spot to relax with a glass of wine or soft drink and do some people watching. Many surfers are always there no matter what the weather. The Surf Life Saving Club is open for Breakfast Saturday and Sunday and for Lunch and Dinner 7 days. A walk along the Noosa Boardwalk that runs the length of Hastings Street is a good way to walk off your lunch or dinner. If you need a touch of retail therapy you can walk back via the stores. www.noosasurfclub.com.au |

The Boathouse Restaurant and Bar Noosaville Queensland
One of our favourite restaurants in Noosa is The Boathouse Restaurant and Bar Noosaville.
Just a very pleasant 10 minute drive from Noosa Heads beside the river. You can catch a Noosa Ferry for a short boat ride that picks you up from near the Sheraton Hotel on Hastings Street (behind the hotel ) and drops you near The Boathouse. The ferry runs frequently so you can hop on and off wherever it stops. The Boathouse is a great restaurant on pontoons on the Noosa River. You can sit on the balcony and have a great view of the river and the town opposite. You will see fish swimming around as you look over the balcony and there are always plenty of birds and wild life. The inside of the restaurant still has a great view of the water if you prefer to eat inside. If you are pressed for time there is a window at the front where you can buy your fish and chips on the run. The food here is excellent and the service is always very friendly and efficient. There is a 2 course lunch special with a glass of wine for $28.00, great value for the quality of the food and the presentation. Unlike some lunch specials the serves are generous. |

I can highly recommend the Macadamia Coated Chicken with Avocado and Tomato salsa. We also had the Calamari which was divine. I finished with a dessert and the Mango and Raspberry tart served with Vanilla Ice Cream was amazing.
When we are in Noosa we always frequent The Boathouse. In our opinion it is one of the top restaurants in the Noosa and Sunshine Coast area. The Boathouse also has a great bar and a function room upstairs for weddings etc.
Noosaville is a great area to visit as there are many shops including clothing, knick knacks, shoes just to name a few. After a nice relaxing lunch you can enjoy some retail therapy.

Kanoloa Massage & Natural Therapies Centre
If you feel like being pampered while on the Sunshine Coast then Kanoloa Massage in Noosa Heads is the place for you.
On holiday in Noosa last week I decided to check out Kanoloa Massage after being recommended by a family member. The owner Annelise has run the Natural Therapy Centre in Noosa Junction for 13 years and in May 2013 will be relocating to Mt Coolum a short drive from Noosa Heads and well worth the effort to get there.
The massage was amazing, I have never felt so relaxed and refreshed as I did after my 60 minutes of sheer heaven. The relaxing music playing softly in the background adds to the ambience of this totally professionally run business. Annelise will discuss with you the many different massages on the treatment menu to ensure your experience suits your needs.
I highly recommend Kanaloa Massage, I have had many massages over the years but this one was by far the best ever, so much so that I had a second one a few days later and will certainly be booking another appointment my next time in Noosa Heads.
